The Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer is instantly recognisable. You see the mixer being used by the best chefs on TV - its shape and array of colours never goes un-noticed. But is it any more than a pretty face?
Definitely yes. Its packed full of features that you will find invaluable in the kitchen. In summary, what are the main points to consider about the appliance?
The 100% metal build. This results in great stability. Some mixers move around when in use - not this one. The enamelled finish will resist scratching, unlike cheaper plastic mixers.
The mixer is easy to keep clean and hygienic thanks to the smooth shape.
The quiet 300 watt motor will have the power needed to handle any mixing task you have. Different jobs such as dough-kneading or whipping need different speeds - the Artisan has speeds adjustable from 58 to 220 rpm.
The bowl is large enough at 4.8l to cope with substantial volumes without overflowing. It's easy to clean, being made of polished stainless steel. It is fitted with a very useful ergonomic handle and has a pouring shield which enables you to add ingredients to the mix without mess.
