Anyone know how to fix a KitchenAid trash compactor.?
Had a few people over on Saturday night. Now it won;t even open up, let alone compact trash. Have little to no money and this very well could get me kicked out of my house when my mom gets back Sunday. My best guess is that somebody yanked hard trying to open it and didn't depress the foot pedal. PLEASE HELP!!!

Not sure if this will fix your problem, but I will give it a shot. I had a similar problem and I called in a professional and charged me a bunch of money to tell me that all I had to do was hit the reset button. I didn't even know there was one, but on the mechanical box there should be an indent much like on a garbage disposal and in the indent there is a button and if you hit that it resets the system and should work again.
