Transform Your Basement Into A Home Theater
Nowadays, going to the movies is simply too expensive. However, it's just not the same watching them in your living room. Why not set up a home theater? It may sound like an expensive task, but it doesn't have to be. Even a cluttered basement can be converted in to a home movie theater.
First, you'll need to roll up those sleeves and clear out some room in your basement. It's best to pack up any loose items even if you have nowhere else to put them. It's much easier to conceal a stack of boxes than items scattered all over the place.
Begin to decorate the room. This is really a matter of personal taste, but for sound quality purposes, it would be best to cover any walls with drapes or blankets. Many basements tend to get quite chilly, especially in the dead of winter. Instead renovating your entire heating system, simply buy a portable warming device. The Delonghi space heater is ideal for this set-up. Just place it in the corner and it will quietly keep your theater cozy.
The addition of a food supply will really boost your new fancy room. Install a mini-fridge so you don't have to run back and forth to the kitchen during the movie or game. It's a nice idea to add a small cooking device, such as a microwave or toaster oven, so you can heat up some popcorn on a whim. The Kitchenaid oven is ideal for a small room like this.
